2 & 3 Car Carriers Melbourne – Truck + Trailer & Semi-Trailer

TTF Industries designs and manufactures custom 2 and 3 car carriers and car transporter trailers in Melbourne for vehicle transport operators, dealerships and commercial fleets. We build two main configurations: rigid truck + trailer car carriers for 2 or 3 vehicles, and dedicated 3-car carrier semi-trailers.
Based in Epping,

Melbourne, TTF can develop the carrier around the truck or prime mover, the vehicles being transported, required payload, loading geometry and operating application. For rigid combinations, this can include the truck carrier tray, trailer, custom towbar, chassis extension where required, and the associated engineering and certification.

Rigid Truck + Trailer Car Carriers – 2 or 3 Vehicles

TTF can design and build rigid truck + trailer car carrier combinations for 2- or 3-vehicle transport. The truck carrier tray, towing system and trailer are developed as a coordinated package, with deck lengths, loading angles, articulation, towbar position, payload distribution and axle loading considered together. The final 2- or 3-car layout is developed around the sizes and masses of the vehicles to be transported and the legal rated configuration of the truck and trailer combination.

Half-Moon Car Carrier Trays & Trailers

For rigid truck + trailer combinations, TTF can build the predominantly flat, low-profile “half-moon” style carrier tray and matching trailer arrangement commonly used for professional multi-vehicle transport. This is a dedicated car carrier tray configuration rather than a beavertail truck body. The truck tray and trailer interface can be profiled to suit truck-to-trailer loading, vehicle clearance and trailer articulation. The carrier deck can also incorporate low loading-angle ramps, perforated or wheel-track flooring, vehicle restraint points, winch provisions, toolboxes, lighting and other practical features to suit the operator.

3-Car Carrier Semi-Trailers

TTF can also design and manufacture dedicated 3-car carrier semi-trailers for commercial vehicle transport. The trailer is configured around the vehicle sizes being carried, required deck arrangement, loading method and prime mover configuration. The design can incorporate low loading-angle ramp systems, air suspension and raise/lower arrangements where appropriate, vehicle restraint points, storage, lighting and other operator requirements. Axle loads, suspension, braking, deck geometry and overall legal combination requirements are considered as part of the final design.

Car Carrier Features & Options

Depending on the required configuration, features can include:

  • 2- or 3-vehicle rigid truck + trailer layouts
  • Half-moon style truck carrier tray and matching trailer interface
  • Dedicated 3-car carrier semi-trailer configurations
  • Low loading-angle deck and ramp geometry
  • Hydraulic, fold-out or slide-out ramp options
  • Perforated carrier flooring or wheel tracks and vehicle restraint points
  • Winch provisions
  • Toolboxes and underbody storage
  • LED lighting, work lights and beacon provisions
  • Air suspension and raise/lower arrangements where applicable
  • Custom towbar and coupling integration for rigid combinations
  • Truck chassis extensions where required to suit the carrier tray

Complete Truck, Trailer & Engineering Package

TTF can manage the carrier tray or body, trailer, towing system and engineering/certification as one coordinated package. This allows the truck body, trailer interface, towbar, chassis modifications, loading geometry and vehicle compliance requirements to be considered together from the start of the build. Where required, this can include 3D CAD, structural assessment, axle-load assessment, chassis extension assessment, towbar design, trailer running-gear selection and the applicable ADR, VSB6, VASS and ROVER / trailer approval requirements.

Payload, Dimensions & Vehicle Configuration

The final carrying capacity depends on the truck, trailer or semi-trailer configuration and the actual vehicles being transported. TTF develops the carrier layout around expected vehicle sizes and masses, available payload, axle and coupling loads, deck lengths, loading geometry and applicable overall vehicle or combination dimensions. This means the carrier can be configured around the operator’s real transport task rather than relying on a generic one-size-fits-all deck layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you build both 2-car and 3-car carriers?

Yes. TTF can develop rigid truck + trailer combinations for two or three vehicles, depending on the truck, trailer rating, vehicle sizes and required operating configuration. TTF also builds dedicated 3-car carrier semi-trailers.

A half-moon carrier uses a predominantly flat truck tray and matching trailer with a profiled interface designed around vehicle loading and trailer articulation. TTF can develop this style of tray and trailer as a coordinated car carrier package.

Yes. For rigid combinations, TTF can provide the carrier tray, matching trailer and custom towing system, with the interfaces and load distribution considered as one package.

Yes. TTF can design and manufacture dedicated 3-car carrier semi-trailers configured around the required vehicle mix, loading arrangement, running gear and prime mover.

Where required, TTF can assess and carry out a chassis extension to suit the body installation, with the modification incorporated into the applicable engineering and certification process.

Yes. TTF can provide the relevant structural, axle-load, towing-system and vehicle compliance assessment together with applicable VASS and trailer approval support where required.
